Sins of a Ruthless Rogue by Anna Randol

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Look at that cover and the title of the book and get ready to be gobsmacked. And if you are going in blind like I did expecting the usual run of the mill romance then be more prepared. The title and the cover doesn’t do the book justice. The Sins of a Ruthless Rogue is a thriller that happens of all places in Russia. Book #2 in Sinners Trio series which as usual I have not read (coz this was just randomly downloaded so it fills my light reading quota) and what did I end up with? 😱

A story of a spy who is hardened at heart and who is suffered from the betrayal by the love of his life, Clayton is cold and mean. Olivia’s only interest in life is to run the mill that lost her happiness but she’s kidnapped by ruffians and taken to Russia mistaken to be a spy. A Princess,an emperor, spies, a villain, a half-villain, revolutionaries, there are all sorts of things happening in this book that just didn’t allow for any light reading. The story was extremely interesting and the tension between Clayton and Olivia was spicy but it was Ian’s character that I loved much in this story.

Revenge never tasted so sweet…

When Clayton Campbell shows up on her doorstep, Olivia Swift is stunned. For long ago, Clayton was the boy who stole her heart. He’s also the man her betrayal had sent to the gallows. A man she believed dead, now standing before her, looking leaner, harder, more powerful than ever, his haunted eyes filled with a lust she had never seen—for vengeance…

Or burned so hot…

He’s a Crown spy who once faced death and escaped unscathed. Yet Clayton Campbell cannot deny that the sight of Olivia rouses in him something more than a thirst for revenge. Or that the bold beauty would lure him once more into a dangerous game. Only this time, Clayton plans to be the victor—with the tempting Olivia in his bed as his prize. But once passion ignites between them, the hard-hearted agent will face his greatest battle yet—for his heart…

  1. Wow you were right. The book cover does not do the book justice. I was seriously prepared to read about a lovely romance. But this thriller is now a must read for me.
I love the plot. Though it talks about revenge and betrayal, I would still love to read it to know the feelings, the expressions of the characters.
A lovely review and a wonderful book recommendation.
Best wishes from The Strong Traveller and have a great day
