My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A huge shout out to Shalini at Digital Reads Blog Tours for this beautiful book about love and second chances! All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

Sizzle and burn, no, c’mon, just feel the romance in the air with Emmanuelle Snow’s Pink and Country, and keep oohing, aahing and sighing and just dreaming all things PINK 💗 💗 💗!

I hope I’m not the only one who is gonna have a permanent smile fixed on their face whilst reading this romantic story of a country music star and a bestselling author. There’s so much to love in this novel, the angst of letting go of your past, the courage to accept things and move on, the leap of faith needed to trust another person with everything you are, and if all that was not enough, the mayhem created by being in the limelight, the paparazzi’s and everyone with a phone following and hounding, invading your privacy, YES, Carter and April have to fight all kinds of emotional turmoil before they accept inevitable, soulmate connection between them.

The attraction is instantaneous, well, a dropped towel definitely adds to the havoc there, and that scene was a cracker, I had a tough time controlling my laugh, but surprisingly sexual attraction is reined in by both of them and the relationship develops nicely into knowing each other and being a friend phase. The banter is super cute, and I simply loved the nicknames that Carter uses for April like Fairy and Pixie. How adorable is it to have someone write a song for you and there I go again sighing and being starry-eyed 🤩 🤩 🤩? The setting of the story is another factor that deserves special mention. The cabin in Green Mountain is the perfect setting for this romance and the author provides a feeling of tranquility to the place.

All the secondary characters add a layer of depth to the story giving a glimpse into the past that has shaped the experiences of the protagonists. The author has also painfully described the effects of anxiety attacks and insomnia. The only thing I wished for was increased pacing in the story as there are places where the drama is slow-going and kind of reduces the tempo.

Blushing pink!

A cabin in the mountains.

A chance for a fresh start.

A dropped towel that seals their fate.

Lost and confused, April Simmons has no clue how to turn her life around. When her best friend sends her to a cabin in the mountains for a month, alone, to work on herself, April has no idea that her handsome, yet broody and enigmatic neighbor is country music superstar Carter Hills.

Carter has everything other people would kill for: money, success, and fame. And yet, being at the top has never felt so lonely.

The moment April and Carter meet, sparks fly, but neither is ready to give in to temptation.

Been there. Done that.

But soon, Carter decides April, the colorful and sassy woman living next door, is worth breaking every rule he set for himself years ago, and nothing she’ll do or say will keep him away. The more April resists, the more Carter pulls her in.

Can April trust Carter with her heart, knowing he has the power to shatter it into a million pieces?

Loving Carter Hills is like riding a roller coaster. It’s breathtaking. It’s fast. It’s scary. And it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
