My first book by Carol Wyer even though I have wanted to read one of her books for a long time. Thank You Bookoutre and Netgalley for providing me a chance to review this brilliant book.
The Dare is a very tense and chilling thriller talking about the dangers and pitfalls of accepting social media challenges. The teenage age is a dicey age where the whole world seems against you and if at all the circumstances at home are not happy and positive they become depressive rude and sullen. It is also an age where parents become enemies and friends become the soul sharing partners in crime.
I loved how the author has addressed this issue and manged to convey the worries and angst that a parent faces during the turbulent years and of course social media doesn’t aid the cause. The story starts with a missing Savannah then spirals into a bang in 3 days when 3 teenagers with seemingly no connection and in different classes gets kidnapped and choked to death. Natalie Ward and her team are short staffed and when there’s an overload of information to sift through and so many suspects to weed out, time becomes a luxury. Absolute delight to read for fans of thrillers!
