Holiday Sparks by Shannon Stacey

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A book made for Xmas holiday cheer but this novella is perfect for any occasion to bring in the joy. Holiday Sparks is part of the Naughty and Nice anthology but the stories comprising the Naughty part of the book is into erotic romance and I have skipped those, so will be reviewing these separately.

Chole Burke has returned to her small town to house-sit her parents’ home but the house is old and the electrical wring goes kaput when the appliances are turned on but the electrician Scott Quinn offers to provide the service and the required upgrade to the wiring before Christmas as a surprise to her parents.

Holiday Sparks has enough sparks to heat up a house. Both Scott and Chole finds themselves in a no strings attached relationship and the small-town grapevine is at it’s peak but what both of them do not expect is the love that blossoms amidst the work that has to be completed. Scott’s relationship with his parents and his long-time friend was all warm and beautiful.

Recommended for short reading to bring a smile on your face!

House-sitting for her parents seemed like a good idea, until the microwave blew up and the lights went out.

Now Chloe Burke thinks upgrading the electrical system of her childhood home while they are away would make the perfect Christmas gift. Fortunately, there’s an electrician in town who can get the job done by the holidays.

Scott Quinn has wanted to get his hands on the Burkes’ wiring for almost as long as he’s wanted to get his hands on their daughter. Chloe didn’t notice Scott back in high school, but she’s noticing him now, and soon they’re indulging in a little festive fun: no strings, no expectations. After all, Chloe plans to get out of this goldfish bowl of a town and back to her real life in Boston by New Year’s.

But Chloe and Scott discover they enjoy each other’s company just as much out of bed. Could their holiday fling turn out to be the real thing?
