K L Slater is one terrific author. Her uncanny ability to use people around us to instill fear in our hearts is exceptional. Judi is a grandmother whom we know.Someone who loves helping her son and grandchildren, some one who wants to feel useful and needed especially at an age where she is also enduring menopause, suffering from unknown emotions and imbalances. The equation of mom-in-law and daughter-in-law is very tricky, some of us are lucky to find the perfect balance while others mostly lose the race and always the man is caught in the middle. The characters have been drawn perfectly with Ben as the clueless son/ boyfriend, Amber with her need to wrest control from Judi and Judi who would never let go of her grandchildren.

The story takes a very interesting path and ends with a surprising bang. Brilliant!

How far would you go to protect your family?

Single dad Ben is doing his best to raise his children alone, with the help of his devoted mother Judi. Life isn’t easy, but Judi’s family means everything to her and together, they manage.
