My Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Oh my, another delicious feast!! I am so glad that I began to read this series NOW with all the books released and not wait for months and years to grab a copy, that would have been a disaster on a gargantuan scale, yeah, you know what I mean! This series is simply mind blowing and if by chance you thought that book #1 Burn For Me was exceptional (well I did think that) then you are gonna be speechless like me to describe this one.

White Hot is freakishly awesome, the story, the romance, the magic world, the family love and relationships, the humor, the mystery, and the intrigue, and No, I’m not gonna talk about Nevada and Rogan, coz seriously I have no clue what to say. Leon, Nevada’s cousin, I can’t wait to read your own story, what a kick-ass scene-stealer you were in this, providing guffaw-worthy comments to an action-packed rampage, having Rogan laughing his head off and Nevada worrying she has a psychopathic brother in her hands.

The writing team of Ilona Gordon and Andrew Gordon have taken the story of the Hidden Legacy series and flew away with it BIG TIME!! The magic world is more complex than the first and the conspiracy is convoluted, there is a whole lot of house politics and threads connecting the web, and like Nevada, the reader also plays a ping pong game handling one problem after another. The antagonist in the story is eviler than Adam Pierce in the first book and thus the stakes are higher. Animal mage Cornelius and his cute as button daughter Matlida join the family and the scene where the army of raccoons is used and the climax with the rats, was stunning in impact. For all those romantic crazies like me, the authors didn’t disappoint, the banter and sexiness between Rogan and Nevada are scorching hot and a yummy epilogue made my day!

The Baylor family is becoming interesting in leaps and bounds, the readers are given more knowledge about Catalina’s talent with a glimpse of what Arabella is and a family complication that came out of nowhere adding to the spicy mix, I cannot wait to read book #3 Wildfire ASAP.

Seriously AVON BOOKS, what is it about these cringy book covers? The riveting story deserves so much better than this cover image.

Review for Burn For Me (Hidden Legacy #1)

Review for Wildfire (Hidden Legacy #3)

Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she’s used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family’s detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor “Mad” Rogan.

Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice . . .
